We are excited to share the news that we are now welcoming applications for the 2023-24 academic year. At this important time in history, we invite you to apply to join the Columbia Journalism School community and gain the skills needed to tell compelling stories that inform people around the world about the important issues we face.

Master of Science (full- and part-time options available)
The general M.S. provides fundamental professional journalism training in reporting, storytelling, and ethics, while giving students the freedom to gain skills in the storytelling mediums and subjects that matter to them. Two specializations are available in the full-time M.S. program: Documentary and Investigative. Applications are due by December 15.

Master of Science in Data Journalism
For students seeking rigorous journalism and data skills training to find, collect, and analyze data for reporting, storytelling, and presentation. Experience in computation is not required. Applications are due by December 15.

- Dual M.S. in Journalism and Computer Science
A two-year program for computationally literate students who are interested in designing and building platforms, algorithms and applications for journalism or pursuing R&D work in computer science related to journalism and media. Applications are due by January 15.

Master of Arts
A one-of-a-kind program for journalists with professional experience who seek the mentorship to tell deeper and more ambitious stories in one of four concentrations: Arts & Culture, Business & Economics, Politics, and Science. Applications are due by January 6.

Ph.D. in Communications 
For students seeking academic or research careers related to the multidisciplinary study of the relationships between people and media in their cultural, social, political, historical, economic and technological contexts. Applications are due by December 15.
