Friday Chronicles - Thirteenth Edition

As a Columbia master's degree student, you will be treated from day one as a professional working journalist.  Our faculty will send you out into New York City to find stories nearly every week, and they will train you in less than a year how to report at the level of the best journalists in the world. For example, Professors and New York Times reporters Walt Bogdanich and Steve Eder's class "Investigative Project" teaches our Master of Science students how to conduct groundbreaking and rigorous investigations of publishable quality. In November, two members of last spring's "Investigative Project" class, Isak Hüllert ('23 M.S.) and Eli Tan ('23 M.S.), shared the byline with Professor Bogdanich on a front-page story in The New York Times about catalytic converter thefts.  The story was based on the in-depth reporting that they undertook as Columbia students.
